Curriculum Sub-Topics

This Section will cover conditions that I am interested in:

• Sensorineural deafness - I am interested in advances in biomedical engineering & bionics  technology (eg. cochlear nano-implants) and in molecular & cellular biomedicine (eg. stem-cell-based regeneration of CNS neurons). And esp the symbiosis between those.

We have biological systems which work very well, but sometimes they malfunction, and give rise to disorders. Some ailments we have are perfectly normal physiological responses by the body; while other ailments require active medical attention. How can we decide the best way to treat and cure problems of the body and mind? Here, we apply the principles of biophysics and biochemistry to increase our body’s ability to better itself. It involves translational research and clinical applications.
